I really enjoy doing presentation (yes I know it’s unusual!), I’ve done many business presentations as part of my role in the Cumbria Growth Hub Project, as well as facilitating Q&A sessions.

In April 2014 I organised the UNCoverPR event at Rheged and I was delighted when this not only sold out but also trended on Twitter. You can see part of the Q&A session with Geoff Ramm, Lynne Mallinson from Country Puddings and UCLan’s own Peter Ashfield here…….

Well another Western Lakes Home and Garden Show has been & gone & I was delighted to interview some of the celebrities who attended this year. Do let me know if you enjoy them.

I had planned questions for each interview, little did I suspect I’d end up discussing the possibility of Cumbrian Royalty with Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen………

or that Oz Clarke would suggest a new finance stream for Haig Pit ……..

Meanwhile Toby Buckland despairs of my gardening techniques……….

and yes I did ask Jean-Christophe the burning question we all want the answer to: does he ever make beans on toast?

Kim Woodburn gives us all hope & tells us it’s never too late for a career change:

I was very proud to be co-curating Cumbria’s first TEDx event, TEDxWhitehaven, here’s a video we made about the preperations:

kindly put together by our fabulous video lady, Val from Entilent Media. She made a fabulous job of the videos, here’s the playlist from Youtube if you’d like to have a look at the talks.

I’ve now started my Digital Marketing course with Google Squared Online, our first project was great fun, we had to put together a video introducing ourselves. As my only experience of making a video was 30 seconds on my iPhone this certainly developed my skills and here’s what I came up with, hope you like it:

Here are a few videos which I’ve thoroughly enjoyed doing as part of my voluntary work with Whitehaven Festival Company, a volunteer group which organises events to raise the profile of, and encourage more people to visit, our beautiful home town of Whitehaven. If you want to know more about the work of the Festival Company please visit their page: Whitehaven Festival or if you want to know more about Whitehaven try Visit-Whitehaven.

I also took part in a Cumbria Kitchen show with The Fat Chat Show, a local Youtube channel who help promote small businesses in the area:
